RECOMMENDED DIETS FOR DIABETES


Due to the high prevalence of diabetes, it is highly recommended that one make the right choice when it comes to diets in  order to alleviate the  consequences associated with this condition. 
For this reasons i have decided to come up with some diets that can be very useful in the management of diabetes, but however i still insist you consult your doctor for more guidelines on dieting as regards diabetes.


  • Eat Enough Vegetables 
Consumption of vegetable is very important for diabetic patients and hence i highly insist that you take more of it if you are diabetic.
Ensure you include them in your diets or you can choose to consume them alone, and also ensure that you consume several variety of them. It is important that you eat them without the addition of salt or fats and make sure they are fresh or frozen.

  • Consume Lean Protein Foods
  1. Eggs  and egg substitutes are good sources of proteins and hence include them in your diet
  2. Ensure you include fish in your meal at least twice per week
  3. Include the intake of beans and soya-bean products
  4. Also include beef 
  5. Before consuming chicken or turkey, ensure you remove the skin

  • Include Whole Grain Foods
  1. Choose unsweetened whole grain cereal or oatmeal 
  2. Make sure you take enough whole grain
  3. When buying bread or pasta, ensure the ingredients includes whole grains

  •    Little Intake Of Healthy Fats
Sources of healthy fats includes
  1. Vegetable oils
  2. Avocado
  3. Olives
  4. Nuts  and Seeds
  5. Mayonnaise 
Make sure your intake of healthy fats is not in excess and ensure total limitation of unhealthy fats in your diets


  • Fruits
Consumption of fruits is very important especially by diabetic and obese patients. Try to always consume enough fruits on daily basis.

  1. Reduce your intake of cakes, cookies, chips and ice-cream
  2. Cut back on high calorie snacks foods
  3. Reduce your intake of alcohol
  4. Watch your weight
  5. Avoid excessive food intake, as this can lead to obesity and other health consequences  

  • Try to include fish twice per week.
  • Choose vegetarian sources of protein often such as beans and soy-based products.
  • Eggs and egg substitute are also great sources of protein.
  • Remove the skin from chicken and turkey.
  • Choose lean cuts of beef and pork, such as those that end in “loin” (pork loin and sirloin).
